Here at Dove Aesthetics Derby we can smooth frown lines, crow’s feet/laughter lines, wrinkles around the chin area or sagging around the neck with a substance called Botulinum Toxin. Botulinum Toxin has been used safely and effectively for years.
There are many areas to consider having Botox, the most common ones are:
- Forehead Wrinkles, typically called frown lines caused by the constant use of these muscles every day, often considered one of the first signs of ageing.
- Crows feet, wrinkles around your eyes, caused by constant muscle use, stretching these lines out with Botox can create a more youthful appearance.
- Vertical lines between the eyes, known as number '11' lines, caused by your eyebrows each time you frown.
What Is Botulinum Toxin?
Botulinum Toxin, or Botox as it is commonly known, is a type of purified protein produced by the Clostridium botulinum bacterium. It is quite safe and is injected directly into facial muscles in very tiny amounts during treatment.
How Does Botox Work?
Botox works by blocking the transmission of nerve impulses to the facial muscles that have been injected. This makes the muscles less active and therefore softens and smoothes the appearance of persistent lines and wrinkles.
How Many Treatments Will I Need?
In most cases patients can see a real difference after one treatment. This is because the treatment works gradually, smoothing and softening lines and wrinkles for up to a month. Every face is unique and we’ll advise you on how many treatments you’re likely to need and how often, depending on the results you’d like to achieve.
How Long Does Botox Last?
The effects often last up to four months, depending on the patient. If you decide to stop treatment, any permanent lines and wrinkles will gradually return.
Is Botox Painful?
It’s very rare for treatment to be painful. Clients can experience slight discomfort however many experience no discomfort at all. We will talk you through what to expect before your first injection, so you’ll be fully prepared prior to treatment.
The cost of Botox will always vary depending upon the number of areas treated, 1 area typically starts at around £199 with 3 areas approximately £299.
